Position Summary:
As a WD teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping student success by creating a professional, supportive, and encouraging learning environment. Key Responsibilities:
Deliver Effective Instruction
- Teach assigned classes in alignment with established policies, guidelines, and approved syllabi.
- Use a student-centered approach to instruction through individual and group teaching.
- Adapt instructional methods and materials based on coordinator feedback and student needs.
Utilize and Enhance Instructional Resources
- Prepare and integrate current instructional materials, equipment, and technologies.
- Implement and evaluate new instructional technologies to improve learning outcomes.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of trends and technology in the field.
Assess and Support Student Learning
- Evaluate student progress through written, oral, practical, and performance assessments.
- Provide frequent, constructive feedback to guide student improvement.
- Ensure alignment between course objectives, instruction, and assessment.
Contribute to Program and Institutional Success
- Maintain classroom and laboratory supervision, ensuring discipline and safety.
- Collaborate with the Director and advisory committees on curriculum revisions and industry needs.
- Participate in scheduled meetings and contribute to program development initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Training and specialized knowledge in Computer Drafting (Autodesk® AutoCAD® Software, latest edition)
• At least 2 years of experience in the field specific to computer drafting
• Certification in discipline and experience
• Work experience related to instruction
• Strong familiarity with technician training needs
• Knowledge of adult learning methodology
• Proficiency in usage of internet, email, word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software applications
• Specific experience teaching and/or training on Autodesk® AutoCAD®, latest edition, computer drafting software in an industry, commercial, or community education setting preferred
• AutoCAD, SOLIDWORKS, and Revit computer drafting experience & training experience
preferred
Additional Instructions for Applicants:
* This incumbent will teach four classes per year. Each class will take place over a month's time consisting of seven hours a week in the evenings, two days a week, from approximately 6-9:00 p.m.
**All candidates must reside within, or be willing to relocate to, a reasonable commuting distance from CWI. Employment visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
