Key Responsibilities:

Deliver Effective and Engaging Instruction

  • Teach assigned classes in alignment with established policies, guidelines, and the approved syllabus.
  • Provide both individual and group instruction using diverse teaching methods.
  • Incorporate and evaluate new instructional technologies to enhance learning.
  • Maintain classroom and laboratory discipline while fostering a supportive learning environment.

Support Student Learning and Success

  • Evaluate student performance through written, oral, practical, and performance assessments.
  • Ensure alignment between instruction and evaluation methods.
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback to support student progress.
  • Supervise and guide students in all classroom and lab activities.

Contribute to Program Quality and Growth

  • Prepare and update instructional materials and recommend curriculum revisions.
  • Collaborate with program coordinators, managers, and advisory committees to align training with industry needs.
  • Participate in scheduled meetings and maintain current knowledge of field technologies and best practices.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Hold a Plumbing Journeyman License from the State of Idaho
• 5 years of experience in the field
• Work experience related to curriculum
• Strong familiarity with technician training needs
• Knowledge of adult learning methodology
• Ability to adapt to a variety of teaching methodologies including lectures, group activities, individual instruction, distance learning, and teaching with technology
• Proficiency in usage of internet, email, word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software applications

Additional Instructions for Applicants:

*The Industry Teacher will teach one night a week, approximately 5 hours a week.
** Successful candidates are required to reside in Idaho by the first day of work for the College of Western Idaho.
