This position blends direct student care with campus-wide impact—offering you the opportunity to provide short-term counseling while designing outreach, training, and prevention efforts that strengthen the entire college community.

Why Join CWI?

At the College of Western Idaho (CWI), you will work in a dynamic, collaborative environment where problem-solving and innovation are valued, and your contributions directly enhance the efficiency of the institution.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a dynamic caseload, including students with urgent and ongoing needs.
  • Conduct crisis intervention and assessment as needed.
  • Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation in compliance with professional and legal standards.

Lead Campus Suicide Prevention & Grant Programming

  • Design and implement outreach, education, and training initiatives outlined in the SAMHSA GLS grant.
  • Coordinate campus-wide programming and prevention events.
  • Collect and support reporting of data related to counseling services and prevention outcomes.
  • Ensure grant activities align with timelines, objectives, and compliance requirements.

Foster Campus & Community Partnerships

  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with community mental health partners.
  • Consult and collaborate with CWI offices, committees, and staff to support student wellbeing.
  • Participate in college committees and initiatives that advance holistic student support.

Model Professional & Institutional Excellence

  • Adhere to all applicable ethical standards, laws, and best practices.
  • Demonstrate CWI’s values through professional conduct and student engagement.
  • Contribute to a culture of care, access, and student success across campus.

What We're Looking For:

• Licensed/license-eligible in the State of Idaho to independently practice as a mental health professional (LPC, LCPC, LCSW, etc.)
At least one year of experience working in social services or similar position within education
• Project management experience

• Strong interpersonal and writing skills
• Experience with mental health provision in a post-secondary setting, with an understanding of student development preferred

Additional Instructions for Applicants:

  • Please include a cover letter with your resume/CV.
  • All candidates must reside within, or be willing to relocate to, a reasonable commuting distance from CWI. Employment visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
