The College of Western Idaho (CWI) is seeking a skilled BI Data Analyst to design dashboards, build data models, and deliver analytics solutions that help teams across the institution better understand and leverage their data.

Insight‑Driven Analytics & Reporting:

  • Design, build, and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations using modern BI tools
  • Develop datasets, calculations, and data models that support institutional reporting needs
  • Validate data accuracy, perform quality checks, and conduct root‑cause analysis
  • Partner with stakeholders to identify opportunities for reporting innovation, automation, and optimization

Collaboration & Technical Support:

  • Support end‑users by explaining data definitions, report functionality, and insights
  • Maintain open communication with stakeholders to ensure effective adoption of BI deliverables
  • Collaborate with IT architects to enhance data pipelines and strengthen data integrity
  • Participate in project teams, agile ceremonies, and governance committees

Continuous Improvement & Data Excellence:

  • Recommend enhancements to reporting workflows, analytics processes, and data pipelines
  • Troubleshoot issues through data profiling, validation, and cross‑system reconciliation
  • Contribute to a culture of data quality, accuracy, and informed decision‑making

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Business, Computer Science, or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in higher education or 3+ years in BI development/reporting/data analysis
  • Proficiency with Power BI (or Tableau/Looker)
  • Strong understanding of relational databases, data modeling, and SQL
  • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, documentation, and communication skills

Additional Instructions For Applicants: 

Most positions at CWI are in-person and based on campus. While some roles may allow up to two remote workdays per week, eligibility for remote work is determined on a case-by-case basis at the hiring manager's discretion. All candidates must reside within, or be willing to relocate to, a reasonable commuting distance from CWI. Employment visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
