Teach courses in areas such as Java, Python, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and web development using engaging instructional methods in classroom, online, and hybrid environments. Responsibilities:
Deliver High-Quality Computer Science Instruction
- Teach assigned Computer Science courses in accordance with CWI curriculum and course outcomes.
- Create engaging learning experiences using effective instructional strategies and technology across in-person, hybrid, and online formats.
- Maintain current expertise in programming languages and web technologies relevant to assigned courses.
Promote Student Learning and Success
- Foster an engaging learning environment that encourages participation, critical thinking, and problem-solving.
- Assess student learning, provide timely and constructive feedback, and maintain accurate academic records.
- Monitor student progress and support student achievement throughout the course.
Maintain Academic Excellence and Instructional Effectiveness
- Develop lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments aligned with course learning outcomes.
- Participate in instructional evaluations and use assessment results to enhance teaching effectiveness and curriculum quality.
- Ensure courses are delivered consistently with departmental and College standards.
Contribute to Department and College Operations
- Meet scheduled classes reliably and complete required administrative responsibilities in a timely manner.
- Participate in department meetings and other assigned College activities.
- Represent the College professionally by demonstrating CWI's values and commitment to student success.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in computer science or related discipline
- Must currently have experience in one or more of the following: web design; web application development utilizing front-end/back-end technologies such as HTML, JavaScript, Java, Python, and/or SQL; web server implementation using Windows and Linux platforms; and Content Management Systems development and implementation, (dependent on courses taught).
- Teaching experience at a community college is preferred.
