Position Summary:

The INBRE Scholars program gives students the chance to immerse themselves in scientific research for three weeks. Students delve into a research project and carefully investigate a research question. Students learn to analyze and interpret the results, and the project will culminate with the design of a scientific poster which will be presented at a research conference.

INBRE scholars will primarily report directly to their research supervisor and the INBRE campus program leader. INBRE scholars will secondarily report to the Dean of Math and Science.

Essential Functions:

• Must commit 120 hours of work over a three-week period, July 8-26. Hours will be M-F, approximately 9 AM - 5 PM.
• Must complete the Responsible Conduct of Research online training course before the start of the program.
• Students will conduct a biological experiment.
• Attend the Idaho INBRE conference July 29 - August 1, 2024, and present a poster summarizing work performed over the summer.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be currently enrolled at CWI at the time of application.
• Before beginning the program, students must have taken an entry-level or higher science course with a laboratory component.
