Empower Your Community Through Education: Join CWI as an Adult Ed Outreach Teacher in Mountain Home! 

Are you a detail-oriented professional looking for an opportunity to serve the diverse educational needs of students? The College of Western Idaho (CWI) is seeking an Adult Ed Outreach teacher to assist with Adult Ed enrollment, provide instruction (mostly GED prep), and connect students to valuable community resources. 

This part-time position will be about 6 hours per week at the Mountain Home Public Library. Days, times, and locations of shifts are subject to change and are not fixed. 

Strategic Teaching: 

Deliver information and instruction aligned with the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) predominantly focusing on reading, writing, and math for the GED. 

Impactful Work in Adult Education: 

Assist with enrollment, provide instruction, and connect students to valuable community resources. 

Collaborative & Growth-Oriented Environment: 

Engage with other teachers and collaborate to serve students in the best way possible. Professional development opportunities are available (budget dependent). 

Key Responsibilities: 

Student Engagement & Support 

  • Welcome and inform current and potential students about Adult Ed offerings. 

  • Connect students to community resources. 

  • Administer assessments and ensure accurate student registration. 

  • Orient students and assist with enrollment. 

Instruction & Curriculum Development 

  • Provide instruction in various settings, covering a range of subjects. 

  • Maintain accurate student records and encourage progress. 

  • Communicate effectively and contribute to the team's efforts. 

  • Reflect CWI's values in all interactions. 

What We’re Looking For: 

  • An associate degree or higher is recommended; a high school diploma or GED is a minimum. 

  • Reliable transportation is required. 

  • Preferred certifications in education and/or TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). 

  • Experience in teaching adults, preferably under WIOA and in math. 

  • Experience in student databases. 

  • Experience in standardized testing. 

  • Experience in learning management systems. 

  • Experience in educational technology/platforms. 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft, Google, and/or Apple applications. 

  • Willingness and ability to improve personal skills to better serve students and the program. 

  • Experience in learning and using a foreign language is a plus. 

  • Spanish fluency is preferred.
