The Adjunct Nursing Faculty is a member of the College of Western Idaho Nursing Program and is primarily responsible for teaching students in a designated area of specialization. As appropriate this position participates in orientation activities related to clinical teaching, clinical faculty team meetings, and has responsibility for determining grade (Pass/Fail) for clinical course requirements based on course objectives and criteria as defined in the course syllabus. The position under 50% workload works directly with the full-time credentialed nursing faculty person responsible for coordination of the course in which the faculty member is assigned to teach.

Key Responsibilities:
Deliver High-Quality Clinical Instruction and Student Learning
- Teach assigned courses in alignment with CWI curriculum, course objectives, and catalog descriptions
- Facilitate student learning using effective instructional strategies and outcomes-based assessment methods
- Evaluate student performance, determine Pass/Fail grades, and provide timely, constructive feedback
- Demonstrate teaching effectiveness through student success outcomes and evaluations
Support Student Progress and Maintain Academic Standards
- Monitor, document, and maintain accurate student records in compliance with college deadlines and policies
- Communicate promptly regarding schedule changes, student concerns, and course updates
- Apply and uphold policies across clinical agencies, the Nursing Program, and the College
- Foster an inclusive learning environment that supports diverse student backgrounds
Engage in Program Collaboration and Professional Practice
- Collaborate with full-time faculty, attend clinical team meetings, and participate in course and program orientations
- Maintain clinical expertise and serve as a professional role model for nursing students
- Participate in program activities, including simulation and clinical instruction support
- Engage in ongoing professional development and maintain current credentials and licensure
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing is minimum requirement for clinical/lab instruction. A Masters or enrollment in a master’s program is preferred for clinical/lab instruction. A master’s is required for classroom instruction.
• Current unencumbered Licensure as a Registered Nurse in Idaho.
• Demonstrates competence in specific clinical practice area(s).
• Teaching experience in nursing education is preferred.
Additional Instructions for Applicants:
*This position is for the 2026 Fall Semester and possibly the 2027 Spring Semester.
**This position could be any shift- nights/days/weekends
***Successful candidates are required to reside in Idaho by the first day of work for College of Western Idaho. Employment visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
