Are you passionate about helping adult learners gain the skills and confidence they need to take their next step? The College of Western Idaho (CWI) is seeking an Adult Education Community Learning Center Instructor to provide individualized and small-group instruction while helping students navigate Adult Education programs, resources, and educational pathways.
In this role, you'll support learners in English language acquisition, digital literacy, and pre-college academic subjects while creating a welcoming environment where students can develop skills, overcome barriers, and work toward their educational and career goals.

Student Support & Community Learning Center Services:
- Welcome current and prospective students and create a positive, supportive learning environment
- Provide information about Adult Education and Basic Skills programs
- Help students identify appropriate college and community resources based on their individual needs
- Assist students with enrollment into appropriate ESL, Basic Skills, and other Adult Education programs
- Provide guidance and support as students navigate their educational options and goals
Instruction & Academic Support:
- Provide instruction in an independent study lab environment through individual and small-group learning
- Support students in English language acquisition and digital literacy
- Tutor students in pre-college math, reading, writing, social studies, and science
- Adapt instructional support to meet individual learner needs, educational backgrounds, and skill levels
- Promote student engagement, persistence, and confidence through encouraging and student-centered instruction
Assessment, Enrollment & Student Records:
- Administer student assessments in accordance with established testing protocols
- Use assessment information to help students identify appropriate courses of study
- Organize and maintain student files and ensure documentation remains accurate and current
- Track student attendance, educational activities, and participation
- Support program requirements established under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA)
Collaboration & Program Support:
- Communicate effectively and professionally with students, colleagues, and supervisors
- Collaborate with Adult Education staff to provide consistent and responsive student support
- Attend staff meetings, professional development, and required training activities
- Contribute to team initiatives and assist with additional program needs as assigned
- Convey by words and actions the values expected by CWI

- Comfort utilizing technology to support instruction and student learning

Additional Instructions For Applicants:
Most positions at CWI are in-person and based on campus. While some roles may allow up to two remote workdays per week, eligibility for remote work is determined on a case-by-case basis at the hiring manager's discretion. All candidates must reside within, or be willing to relocate to, a reasonable commuting distance from CWI. Employment visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
