Position Summary:
The Director of Donor Relations leads donor engagement strategies to foster long-term relationships and enhance donor retention at the College of Western Idaho. Reporting to the Vice President of Advancement, this role develops and implements donor recognition, communication, and stewardship initiatives while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. The Director plays a key role in shaping the College's narrative and advancing its mission through impactful donor relationships. This position requires creativity, strategic thinking, and a commitment to advancing the College’s mission through strong donor relationships.
Essential Functions:
Donor Engagement and Strategy
• Develop and execute strategies to enhance donor retention and recognition.
• Cultivate strong relationships with donors, alumni, and community partners.
• Collaborate on initiatives to connect donors with CWI’s impact and foster affinity.
Event Planning
• Plan and execute donor-focused events, including presidential and stewardship events.
Communication
• Oversee donor communication strategies across multiple platforms to thank, inform, and engage.
• Collaborate with Marketing and Communications to align messaging.
Reporting and Analysis
• Track and analyze donor engagement metrics to inform strategy.
• Provide regular performance reports to leadership.
Team Collaboration
• Lead cross-functional collaboration to create meaningful donor experiences.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• 5+ years in donor relations, advancement, fundraising, or related fields.
• Proven success in donor engagement, stewardship, and event planning.
• Experience analyzing data to measure and improve donor strategies.
• Strong relationship-building, communication, and storytelling abilities.
• Strategic thinker with project management and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with digital platforms, CRM systems, and donor communication tools.
• Flexible schedule for events and donor meetings.
