The College of Western Idaho (CWI) invites you to join our Health Professions Department as a Program Director/Instructor for the Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Program. Position Details 

  • Location: Brand new Health Services campus in Nampa. 

  • Role: Lead, teach, and mentor while overseeing clinical education within the PTA program. 

  • Impact: Prepare students for success in the dynamic and rewarding field of physical therapy. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

Instruction and Student Success: 

  • Deliver engaging classroom, lab, and clinical instruction tailored to diverse learners. 

  • Cultivate productive study habits, core competencies, and professional work habits in students. 

  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, ensuring alignment with college grading policies. 

  • Consistently apply disciplinary procedures fairly and equitably. 

  • Engage in professional development to enhance instructional and technical expertise. 

Clinical Education Leadership: 

  • Coordinate clinical education, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards. 

  • Provide quality learning experiences during student clinical rotations. 

  • Develop and maintain partnerships with clinical education sites and instructors. 

  • Educate students, faculty, and clinical instructors on clinical education requirements. 

  • Continuously assess and enhance the effectiveness of clinical education initiatives. 

Institutional Engagement: 

  • Collaborate with faculty to integrate clinical education into the broader curriculum. 

  • Support program planning and contribute to ongoing program assessment and improvement. 

What We’re Looking For 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Licensed Physical Therapist or Physical Therapist Assistant with a master’s degree. 

  • Eligible for or holds an Idaho license to practice. 

  • At least three years of clinical experience, including PTA/Physical Therapist collaboration. 

  • Credentialed clinical instructor (APTA) or ability to obtain credentials. 

  • Eligible for or holds an Idaho State Professional-Technical teaching certificate. 

  • Valid driver’s license. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience as a Center Coordinator of Clinical Education (CCCE) or Clinical Instructor (CI). 

  • Teaching experience in higher education, clinical instruction, or professional presentations. 

  • Clinical or educational administration experience. 

  • Strong professional network in the physical therapy field to support student placements. 

  • Flexibility, teamwork, and collaboration skills.
